CEO and Chairman of the Board

Glen Nelson has been The Mahoney Group’s largest commercial insurance agent for many years. He has served as board chairman and CEO of The Mahoney Group since 2001. A third-generation agent with 22 years of insurance experience, Glen provides risk management and insurance consulting services. He has created exclusive insurance company relationships and formed the co-venture for IRM of Arizona, a third-party claims administrator. Glen also created and manages Southwest Real Estate Purchasing Group and our agency captive insurance company. He created the agency’s mentorship program and has recruited and mentored many successful producers.

Glen studied finance at Arizona State University. He devotes much of his time to community activities, including his church and the Boy Scouts of America where he has served as Explorer Scout district commissioner. He serves on several boards including the Mesa Historical Museum, Intermodal Insurance Company, and Pops Health. Glen and his wife, Sue, are natives of Mesa, Arizona, and have seven children. He enjoys horses, fishing and other outdoor activities.
